The Last Saturday in October, with Jess Zeglin

collaboration with jess zeglin

October 2018

While conducting field research as a part of Land Arts of the American West along Turkey Creek in New Mexico's Gila Wilderness, Erin Gould and jess zeglin found a defunct windmill. Rather than see the object for the purpose it now lacks, they focused on the visual beauty and auditory potential of the object in its current life. The Last Saturday in October is a compilation of video shot by Gould and audio recorded by zeglin of an improvisation collaboration between the three and the surrounding creatures and environment on that particular afternoon in October.
